- OPR will be implemented February 1, 2011.
- Omega will use TSX CBBO for TSX listed securities.
- Omega will use CDX and Omega market data feed for Venture listed securities.
- IIROC and OSC have been advised.
February 1, 2011, the order protection rule goes into effect, whereby the marketplaces are responsible to prevent broker trade throughs and book throughs (except in the event a DAO order is sent). Omega will be providing order protection effective February 1, 2011, utilizing the TSX CBBO for TSX listed securities.
We are now testing the official TSXV consolidated market data feed as it has very recently come available been put into production by TMX Data Services. Omega will use Omega’s market data feed and Venture’s market data feed for order protection consideration thus providing a partial consolidated feed until the official TSXV Consolidated feed has been successfully tested in our environment. Although not ideal, we feel it is prudent to offer our subscribers a level of protection until the Venture consolidated feed becomes available. We have also advised IIROC and the OSC so that are aware of the issue.
We will advise when we have completed testing and have put the official TSXV Consolidated into our production environment.
